Navy Blue Tassel Leather Slippers

Navy Blue Tassel Leather Slippers, a collaboration by Sana Mbarek and The Wee Souk.

Handmade in a small independently owned workshop in the coastal city of Monastir, Tunisia.

Balgha, also know as babouche are a traditional leather backless slipper.  Sana is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Malaga, Spain and takes inspiration from her Tunisian roots.  The Wee Souk collaborated with Sana on the design of these beautiful tasseled slippers.  The idea came from a single tiny, child’s pair we found in the medina of Sousse that were so adored on our socials we made it our mission to bring them to our customers.  The multicolored tassels add a pop of colour and fun to this traditional indoor slip on shoe.  Sana also designs our beautiful fabric covered balgha in intricate patterns.

Balgha are smaller made than regular shoes, so if you’re a half size we recommend you ‘size up’.

Available in sizes 37 – 41 (EU) or 4 – 8 (U.K).  Also available in red and sea blue colour variations.
