Sejnane Pottery Pot.
A beautifully sculpted piece of art, history and tradition to add to your home.
How is it made?
Clay is collected, oil is extracted from leaves and pieces are fired over an open pit, the entire process is laborious and by hand. It is a 3000 year old tradition, passed down through generations of women.
The pottery of Sejnane, a town in the north of Tunisia has recently been recognised on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The Wee Souk works with an Economic Interest Group in Sejnane, founded to ensure the fair pay of potters and to ensure the crafts preservation.
