Wiem hails from a family of artists in the city of Nabeul, best known for its ceramics. Designer and maker, she offers a contemporary take on traditional Tunisian couture and accessories. Her boutique which opened in 2015 has become a firm favourite for wedding fashion in Tunisia as well as her unique take on palm leaf products.
The ‘qufa’ market basket, made from handwoven palm leaves is embellished using hand embroidered explosions of colour and leather handles are added for durability and style. The baskets are also lined and have a secure fastening to be used as a handbag rather than the shopping basket. Her round palm leaf bag are also hand embroidered and are a festival must have for the lover of all things Bohemian. In addition, the palm leaf sun hats which are worn across Tunisia by people from all walks of life have been redesigned with a playful spirit, featuring brightly coloured pom poms and seashells.
